Scene 31

The shepherds in the mountain pasture

In this scene staging the Shepherds in the Mountain Pasture, you can see the child shepherd and the spinner from the Napoleonic Society of Montereau Country. Every third weekend of September, they join us to recreate a temporary village in the Museum’s garden and give life to some of the 105 Museum’s scenes.

mediation for all

The exhibition mediation was conceived to be experienced with your family.

Various set-ups allow visitors to enjoy an immersive experience of the museum and make it as accessible as possible. The whole family will be able to experience the little moments of the past that shaped our contemporary society. The visit, with its rich and diverse cultural programming, is also designed for children, and can be enhanced with an audio guide (French or English).

To learn more about the rural legacy we inherited from the 20th century, one of our guides will gladly enrich your visit with all the anecdotes that make up the spice of life.

We regularly welcome collectors of old cars and motorcycles.

Monitored parking on the forecourt of the museum. We are affiliated with the French Federation of Ancient Vehicles (Fédération française des véhicules d’époque-FFVE).

Testimonies

"The most lively museum!

One word – LOVE! If you don’t go and visit it and have lunch in their excellent family restaurant then you will never see what I call a REAL MUSEUM! On your own or for a family trip you will never forget"

Caroline Margeridon

"Take your children!

A museum filled with a vast collection of objects that retrace 150 years of history from 1800 to 1950. A pleasant welcome and more than 100 spaces to wander. An audio-guide and a game complement the visit and provide a captivating experience for young and old."

"A beautiful discovery!

A museum that takes us back in time for two hours! The collection of ancient objects is impressive and a game for the whole family takes us through a search for anachronistic objects all along the visit."
