NEW SCENE !

The Museum Holds Its Bazaar
A 104th Life-Size Scene!

The Museum is setting up its 104th life-size scene: a lively village bazaar inspired by early 20th-century markets. A dense, colourful world from days gone by. Wicker baskets, skeins of twine, hanging pans, neatly folded aprons… the stall and its merchant seem to be waiting for their customers.

Wander among the objects as if leafing through a catalogue of everyday life: sewing kits, barber’s brushes, butcher’s string, tins of buttons, lavender soaps… A warm, joyful evocation of those places where people bargained, laughed and chatted. A return to the village squares where shopping mattered, but meeting each other mattered more.

With all five senses awakened, visitors will discover this new scene in the Museum’s old village. Smell the spices, hear the calls, touch the fabrics… and rediscover a forgotten world where trade was at the heart of life. The carefully designed staging pays tribute to the diversity of trades of the past.
